Position Description:

The IT Help Desk Technician will be part of a team that assists the IT Manager in maintaining and supporting our users and the IT infrastructure of our network. We are a manufacturing company with over 150 employees at a single location comprised of 8 buildings. 

An ideal candidate will be able to install, administer, and troubleshoot Windows 10 and a variety of computer applications including, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). You will need to be able to diagnose issues and collect relevant data from users and error logs for troubleshooting purposes. Improve the effectiveness and efficiencies of the firm via IT support, making suggestions to the IT Department and/or management as appropriate. Maintain the firm’s databases, including electronic uploads. Document solutions and update current documentation for IT solutions. Work collaboratively with other IT staff and office staff report to work in a regular and timely manner. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in maintaining and upgrading the following information systems: Workstations, Printer/Copy Machines, Phone system, Infrastructure Servers (email, web, file, SQL databases)
  • Troubleshoot local desktop workstations, and printer issues submitted by users through phone or help desk ticketing system
  • Documents procedures for maintaining Information Systems hardware and software, including disaster recovery plans, cybersecurity plans, user training, and network administration tasks.
  • Provision/De-provision desktop computers to ensure all users have the appropriate company software installed and functional to perform their duties
  • Ensures users/customers are provided professional, courteous, and timely support and service. 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Extensive exposure to computers, operating systems, and software in work, school, or personal settings is required
  • Microsoft Windows 10 proficiency is required, experience with installation and basic troubleshooting
  • Experience with installation, and troubleshooting on Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Specific Knowledge, Skills, Licenses, Certifications Etc. (preferred but not required)

CompTIA A+ Certification
Microsoft Certifications

  • Ability to work together as part of a team under limited supervision or independently
  • Able to read, write, comprehend and communicate in English

 

Beneficial Skills and Experience:

  • Microsoft Certifications
  • CompTIA A+ certification, or equivalent experience.
  • CompTIA Network+ certification, or equivalent experience. 
  • CompTIA Security+ certification, or equivalent experience.

 

Required Internal Training:

  • HCI Orientation
  • All pertaining process procedures that relate to job function

 

Required Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Must be able to bend, twist and maneuver physically as needed to install, repair, and/or maintain office equipment.  Extensive use of a mouse and keyboard with extended viewing of a computer monitor. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to vibration.  The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock.
